Pitcher Sandy Koufax played a key role in the Dodgers' sweep over the Yankees. In the series opener, the first five Yankee batters all went down on strikes. This was truly notable since both Roger Maris and Mickey Mantle were among those five. The Dodgers were able to fully count on all of their players during this series, including Frank Howard, who managed to hit a powerful homer.
