Synopsis by Betsy Boyd

Miracles On Your Plate is a nutrition video that explains, in convincing detail, why you should eat your veggies. Armed with scientific ammunition, Ph.D.s, chefs, nutrition authors, including Dr. Dean Ornish, and even Casey Kasem and Elvira, Mistress of the Dark, attest to the importance of vegetables to health and well-being. A few of the mighty vegetable's powers include healing the common cold and preventing some kinds of cancer and heart disease. Screen graphics underline key points, for example, spinach equals protein. The video also discusses how to make a vegetable-centered diet palatable. Chef Graham Kerr cooks a full vegetarian meal in intervals throughout the tape. Recipes appear on the screen after the closing credits. Bob Barker and Tippi Hedren host.
