Synopsis by Jinko Labitag
Brought up in an ultra-conservative religious community with an abusive father and an overbearing mother, 17-year-old David (Samuel H. Levine) can’t help but feel stifled and stuck. He takes refuge in his relationships with his loving grandfather and a closeted elderly couple, books by James Baldwin, and alcohol. One day, he ventures out to an East Village gay bar, where he meets a dashing bartender. Slowly, he begins to open up, realizing that he has to reconcile his identity as an immigrant, a Jewish person, and a gay man to be freed. Directed by Eric Steel.
