Synopsis by Rose of Sharon Winter
This video chronicles the installation of a ming garden at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City. The historic event marked the first time the United States and the People's Republic of China shared their cultural resources to install a permanent exhibition. A museum curator explains the elements of style and color characteristic of the Chinese garden, which was patterned after the famed Suzhou Gardens in China.
