Synopsis by Perry Seibert
Hosted by respected musician Mike Seeger, this instructional video exposes the viewer to over two-dozen traditional folk songs, each played in a different style that developed in the southern regions of the United States. The viewer learns some of the techniques that helped make people like Leadbelly, Maybelle Carter, and Roscoe Holcomb legends. Among the songs used to illustrate the various lessons is "Old Chisolm Trail," "Spanish Fandango," and "White Oak Mountain."
