Synopsis by Mark Deming
As the sexy, charismatic lead singer with the rock group INXS, Michael Hutchence was one of the biggest stars the Australian music scene ever produced. A gifted vocalist who could blend passion with precision and also registered in a handful of film roles, Hutchence had fame, fortune, a beautiful girlfriend, a child, and a solo album ready for release when to the shock of his fans and friends he committed suicide in 1997. Michael Hutchence: The Loved One is a documentary which examines his life, times, and rise to fame, featuring archival interviews with the singer and footage of him on-stage with INXS, as well as contributions from his family and close friends who talk about the man behind the star-struck image.
