Synopsis by Clarke Fountain
The dramatic real-life adventures of Johanna Kimla Ocenaskova are narrated by her, as actors re-enact these dramatic incidents. An adventurous young Czechoslovakian woman, when the Nazis occupied the country her lover was killed and she was imprisoned because her papers were in some way seen as deficient. She was sufficiently resourceful to escape and fake her own death so that she could work in films under an assumed name. As difficult as things were under the Germans, they became more difficult when the communists came to power, and she escaped over the mountains into Germany and thence to Australia.
