Synopsis by Perry Seibert
Barbara Gräftner's Mein Russland (My Russia) is about a manipulative mother. Viennese Margit (Andrea Nürnberger) is displeased that her son Hans (Holger Schober) is marrying a Ukrainian woman named Anna (Natalya Baranova). Margit invites Anna's family to stay with her during the festivities, but treats them terribly. Eventually Margit manipulates the young couple into living with her. The marriage gets off to a rocky start when Hans ignores his new wife's pleas to get a higher education. Mein Russland was screened at the Alpe Adria Cinema Festival.
