Synopsis by Clarke Fountain
In this absurdist political allegory, with dark comic touches, Amiran has been living alone in his apartment for some time. An old man collapses on his doorstep, and he compassionately takes him in. Before long, the old man's daughters join them. Each day, more and more of the old man's relatives come in, crowding Amiran out of the use of what was formerly his, destroying his possessions in the process. By the end of the film, he has been confined by the burgeoning family in a birdcage and by implication should be grateful to have that much left. Reviewers felt that this story illuminated the takeover of Georgia by the U.S.S.R.
