Produced by the National Gallery of Art, the documentary Masters of Illusion investigates the history of special effects. Beginning in the special effects studios of Hollywood, the film traces the origins of illusion-making techniques all the way back to Renaissance masters such as Brunelleschi, Michelangelo, and Da Vinci.
