From the Masterpieces of Italian Art series comes this glimpse at the powerful influence of Renaissance genius. This program explores and celebrates some of the greatest artistic achievements of the period, including da Vinci's Mona Lisa, Michelangelo's David, Raphael's Madonnas and Vatican paintings, Titian's famous portraits, and much more. Altogether, the program encompasses the work of 28 Renaissance artists and architects, and features 155 works chosen for the film by Italian art historian Giulio Carlo Argan. The program takes viewers throughout Europe to see these masterful achievements and to develop a deeper understanding of this pivotal historical period.
