Synopsis by Kathleen Wildasin

Narrated by Robert Redford, Wild America 9: The Predators is the work of naturalists Mark and Marty Stouffer. The film, tape 9 in the Wild America series, explores the relationship between predator and prey within the context of a balanced wildlife ecosystem. Exciting and vivid scenes show the drama of animals "killing to eat". You'll see a bobcat hunting trout and a female bear teaching her cubs to catch salmon. Bald eagles and osprey soar and swoop and strike their prey. A cunning coyote snatches a ptarmigan and a sly cougar stalks a herd of sheep. The final sequences of the film show the importance of preserving predators in order to maintain the diversity of American wildlife.
