Another "Swiss-com" situation comedy produced by Swiss national television, this series is a reworking of The Odd Couple. Due to a twist of fate, a plump shopkeeper named Irwin finds himself sharing an apartment with Leo, a writer with a type-A personality. Röbi is Irwin's stringy, straw-headed sidekick who, like Seinfeld's Kramer, drops in to provide some gratuitous laughter. Many of the episodes revolve around two women, Leo's love interest, a reporter named Jasmine, and Frau Graber, the pokey next-door neighbor. While timid by American and British sitcom standards, this series was a considerable success in its native land, although never as popular as its predecessor Fascht e Familie.
