Synopsis by Jason Buchanan

An intense personal drama documenting a young woman's choices in modern day Iran, Rasul Sadrameli's Man, taraneh, panzdah sal daram (aka I'm Taraneh, 15) finds a young woman in the difficult situation of becoming a single mother. Her widowed father serving time in jail, fifteen-year-old Taraneh (Taraneh Alidoosti) avoids the unwanted advances of carpet salesman Amir until the suitor's mother convinces the young girl to accept his offer of marriage. Quickly realizing that their marriage is doomed due to their deep-rooted incompatibility, the couple agrees to divorce and Amir emigrates to Germany. Discovering that she is pregnant shortly thereafter, Taraneh makes the difficult decision to keep the baby despite the increasingly intense social pressure mounting against her bold decision.
