This implausible story has two German brothers on opposite sides of the Nazi cause. One is a Nazi guard at a concentration camp, and the other a prisoner. The prisoner brother escapes, and after a debate among the officers, it is decided the Nazi brother is more loyal to the cause and Nazi superiors agree to let him track down the escapee. The prisoner takes it on the run, making love to a military nurse who protects him. After he is mauled by a hunting dog, man and dog become friends. He later escapes and is taken in by a man and his wife, where the woman literally nurses him back to health. The escape from prison begins with the requisite brutality before the escape turns the film into an adventure chase. The only thing more implausible than the plot is the attempt of post World War II Germany to absolve themselves of any blame for the atrocities willfully inflicted on and suffered by millions. Even more implausible is they keep trying to explain, sidestep and deflect their well documented depravity towards humankind.
