Synopsis by Janiss Garza

Dr. Chindi Ashutor (Sessue Hayakawa), a Hindu scientist, loves Kate Erskine (Helen Jerome Eddy). Kate loves him too, but she won't marry him because of the race differences. He returns to India, but a few months later he is sought out by James Bassett (John Gilbert), an old schoolchum and fiancé of Kate's sister Mary (Pauline Curley). Bassett foolishly has been involved with the Mafia and now is in far over his head. On the ship taking them to Scotland, the doctor throws off the blackguards by giving James a potion which makes him appear dead. The bad guys find out they have been duped, but the Mafiosi camp turns on each other, halting their pursuit of Bassett. Back in Scotland, Ashutor reaffirms his love for Kate, even though she still won't have him -- not the most satisfactory of endings.
