Synopsis by Clarke Fountain
Simion distils potent booze in the back hills of Ceylon, rustles cattle, and gambles freely. Despite his criminal ways, he is a man of inflexible principles, and rather than bribing his local police chief to leave him alone he thinks it rather fitting when he is arrested for his crimes and spends twenty years in prison. He's the sort of man who, after his beloved wife leaves him because he has given her one beating too many, never looks at another woman. When this patriarch of crime gets out of prison, his similarly inclined children try to take care of him, but his stubborn adherence to his sense of values brings more suffering down on all of their heads.
