Synopsis by Hal Erickson
Peru, Cuba, Germany and Great Britain may be strange bedfellows politically, but it was financing from these four countries that resulted in the 1986 feature film Malabrigo. The title refers to a Peruvian fishing village, where Charo Verastegui travels to meet her husband. Once she's arrived, Charo is told that hubby has been missing for at least two days. Stonewalled by the local authorities, Charo learns that her husband had worked in a factory that had been destroyed in a highly suspicious explosion. It is not for us to reveal the surprise (or surprises) attending the final reel of Malabrigo.
