Synopsis by Alice Day
The origins of man are explored in this series hosted by Richard Leakey, paleoanthropologist, author, and conservationist. Information gathered by archaeologists indicate what life might have been like for early man over a million and a half years ago. Making of Mankind: A Human Way of Life examines the bones and other objects found at an ancient site where some of the first humans lived. In remote regions of the world, isolated groups can be found who still pursue a primitive hunting/gathering way of existence. Leakey travels to the Kalahari Desert, and finds such a group.
