Synopsis by Robert Firsching
Marie-France Broquet stars in Jesus Franco's sex thriller as a French au-pair named Marie-France Bertrand, who takes a job at an isolated house on a Greek island. Mr. Steiner (Paul Muller) lives there with daughters Olivia (Lina Romay) and Linda (Catherine Laferriere). Steiner is insane and sees ghostly visions, Olivia is a nymphomaniac, and Linda has been paralyzed since birth and responds only to the deaf-mute servant Abdul (Pierre Taylou). As the house's oppressive heat, the family's bizarre nature, and the funereal atmosphere take their toll, Marie-France is driven slowly toward madness. Monica Swinn co-stars with Francisco Acosta in this haunting erotic mood-piece, which Franco later remade -- with somewhat different situations -- as Die Teuflischen Schwestern (1977).
