Lydia McCarthy (Julia Montgomery) hires Magnum (Tom Selleck) to locate a jewel thief, whom she identifies as her chauffeur. It soon develops that the "jewel" in question is Lydia's own son, who may have been kidnapped by his father--and once Magnum has these facts at his disposal, his next step is to flush out a rather vicious black-market adoption ring. Meanwhile, Higgins is having "kid problems" of his own with a rowdy group of underprivileged youngsters.
