With Magic Harbour, producer Greg Grainger travels to the legendary Sydney Harbour, in Sydney, Australia, for a multifaceted portrait of that environment and its many personalities. Grainger's narrative begins in the pre-dawn hours, when swimmers and rowers work out with training exercises to prepare themselves for the day; in the distance, the Queen Elizabeth 2 ship can be glimpsed, sliding through the waters of the Western Channel. As the film moves on, the audience is treated to sights such as the wealthy entrepreneur Rene Rivkin cruising around the harbor in his helicopter, and wildlife emerging across the bay; Grainger also takes the audience on a tour of such sites as Ken Done's waterside cave and the famous Admiralty House, films the many leisure pursuits common in the Harbour area (such as scuba diving and bridge climbing), and shoots the harbor in various meteorological conditions ranging from thick fog to beach-friendly sunny skies.
