Synopsis by Hal Erickson
This six-part British drama series was set in Norway. Having inherited a valuable patch of property from a mysterious millionaire benefactor, Catherine Durrell (Tusse Silberg) left her native England for the Norwegian fjords. No sooner had she arrived in Scandinavia than she found herself up to her neck in intrigue and murder. Elements essential to the story included a raging fire and a local "eccentric" who played with dolls in the same ominous manner as Basil Rathbone's Richard III in the 1939 theatrical feature Tower of London. Maelstrom was telecast by the BBC in 1985.
