Synopsis by Sarah Block
In these two episodes from the animated children's series Madeline, Madeline and her friends learn a few important lessons about etiquette and manners. In "Madeline's Manners," Pepito displays such terrible table manners that his father threatens to keep him home from a banquet honoring his favorite soccer star. Meanwhile, Madeline and her friends don't fare much better with their manners when they invite Pepito for tea. They all head off to etiquette school where they learn basics like not playing with their food and covering their mouths when they sneeze. Although Pepito's cousin Pablito tries to convince them that manners aren't "cool," the soccer star steps in to save the day. In "Madeline and the Show Off," Madeline and friends learn a lesson in humility. When Yvette is chosen to pose for a famous artist, her ego gets the best of her. As the other girls struggle with feelings of inadequacy, Miss Clavel teaches them that each person is beautiful in his or her own way. Meanwhile, Yvette learns that looks aren't everything.
