One of silent screendom's most famed dramatic actresses, Pauline Frederick, somehow got herself involved in this silly allegorical tale: When Valor (Thomas Meighan) and Charm (Elsie McCloud) get married, Madame Jealousy (Frederick) stirs things up between them with the help of her cohorts Mischief and Treachery (Edwin Sturgis). The couple go home to their respective parents and their fathers, Commerce (Charles Wellesley) and Finance (Frank Losee) set out to ruin each other. Valor tries spending away his pain and is driven to the brink of suicide. But when Charm gives birth to a baby, Happiness, the couple are reunited and Madame Jealousy is sent away to bother some other unsuspecting young couple.
