Burt Buchman (Louis Zorich), father of our hero Paul Buchman (Paul Reiser), lands in the hospital, the probable victim of a possible heart attack. Paul's wife, Jamie (Helen Hunt), takes advantage of Burt's brief absence to forge a tighter bond with Paul's acerbic mother, Sylvia (Cynthia Harris), making her Mad About You debut. Alas, Jamie's good intentions inevitably repave the road to Hell. This episode also finds Paul watching a Humphrey Bogart movie to the tune of "Wooly Bully."
