Synopsis by Janiss Garza
Only dramatic actress Pauline Frederick could have brought a note of reality to this ludicrous story: Captain Louis Corey (Thomas Holding) has fallen for Sara Vincent (Frederick), but since he is already engaged, she lets him go. But Alida, Corey's fiancee, and later wife (Clarissa Selwynne), bears a grudge against Sara and, through malicious gossip, destroys her reputation. The scandal kills Sara's father, Commodore Vincent (Hardee Kirkland), and Sara, bitter over it all, leaves the small naval base she calls home and becomes proprietress of a sailor's dive in the South Seas. Twenty years later, Alida arrives on the island with her son, Allan (Arthur Rankin). Bent on revenge, Sara sends one of her lovers, Stuart Beresford (Leon Bary) to romance Alida before Corey gets to the island. Alida responds, but Allan shoots him. Now racked with guilt, Sara takes the blame for the killing to save Corey from the pain of having his boy go to trial. As a result, she is c! onvicted and executed.
