Synopsis by Nathan Southern

The music of Jamaica-born Roots reggae megastar Luciano blends elements of rock, R&B, and funk, and couples this cosmopolitan style with soulful, spiritual messages about the artist's love of God that feel pulled straight out of gospel. Born Jepther McClymont, in Davey Town, Jamaica, Luciano made his earliest stylistic mark with the watershed 1995 EP Where There Is Life on the VP label, which became an instant smash; the successive years saw him working with such top-notch reggae producers such as Herman Chin-Loy. He has since issued well over thirty albums - most of inestimable critical acclaim - and has garnered a loyal following of devotees. In the home video release Luciano: Live in San Francisco, the artist performs thirteen numbers on stage in the city of the Golden Gate. Highlights include: "It's Me Again," "Good God," "No Night In Zion," "Legalize It," "God Give Me Strength" and "Ulterior Motives."
