Synopsis by Perry Seibert
Based on a true story, Loving Miss Hatto tells the tale of a married couple who concoct a massive ruse that fools the classical music world for years. William Barrington Coupe (played at different stages in life by Alfred Molina and Rory Kinnear) works in music publishing and dreams of becoming a respected performer. One day he meets Joyce Hatto (Francesca Annis and Maimie McCoy), a beautiful and talented young pianist and devotes himself to being her husband and her manager. They eventually realize she doesn't have the talent to make it as bug as they dreamed, but decades later, Joyce was rediscovered and recorded prolifically in the final years of her life. After her death, however, the truth comes out that William acted unethically to build and maintain his wife's reputation.
