Synopsis by Janiss Garza

Conway Tearle stars in this standard romantic melodrama. Rita Norwood (Florence Billings) longs for the affection of Russell Carrington (Tearle), even though she is already married. Herbert, her husband (Robert Ellis), accuses her of being in love with Carrington, and threatens to kill her. In the resulting struggle between the couple, a revolver goes off and kills Norwood. While his dead body is still lying on the floor, Carrington enters, and when he refuses Rita's advances, she tells the police he killed her husband. Carrington becomes a fugitive from the law and escapes to a little fishing village. There, he finds real love with Dorothy Wheeler (Winifred Westover) and they become engaged. But then Rita arrives in the village and when she discovers Carrington there, she has him arrested. Dorothy believes he is guilty and becomes engaged to someone else. But eventually Carrington's innocence is established, and Dorothy returns to him.
