Synopsis by Janiss Garza
Lillian Walker stars in this comedy-drama, based on the novel Fran by J. Breckenridge Ellis. Fran (Walker) has been raised in a circus and, at the age of 20, she makes her way to a puritanical community, the home of minister Hamilton Gregory (Herbert Prior). She doesn't immediately reveal that she is actually Gregory's daughter. The minister isn't practicing what he preaches, and he has been neglecting his wife (Lydia Knott) for the favors of his secretary, Grace Noir (Allene Hale). Fran sets out to help Mrs. Gregory, and Grace becomes determined to oust the young girl from the Gregory home. The struggle between the young girl and the vamp comes to a head when Grace tries to find out about Fran's past. The identity of her real father is revealed, a humbling experience for Gregory. Fran becomes engaged to Abbot Ashton (L.C. Shumway), the school superintendent.
