Synopsis by Mark Deming

One of the great wild men of the big band era, trumpeter Louis Prima truly hit his stride when he teamed up with singer Keely Smith, whose unflappable vocal style not only gave a more stable sonic personality to the frantic sounds of Prima and his band, but also gave Prima a worthy onstage foil, and together they became one of the most popular acts of Las Vegas' glory days in the '50s and '60s. Louis Prima and Keely Smith: That Old Magic compiles rare footage of the duo accompanied by Prima's band; selections include "When The Saints Go Marching In," "That Old Black Magic" and "Up a Lazy River"."
