A home-schooled teen named Herman attempts to adjust to high school life after being forced to enroll in public school for his senior year. Coddled by his overprotective mother, Herman spent most of his youth sheltered. So what's a shy mama's boy to do when he falls for the most popular girl in school? The first thing Herman will have to do is get a serious makeover, a feat he pulls off with a little help from his newfound friends. Soon enough, Herman is the most popular guy in his school. Admired by the boys and pursued by the girl of his dreams, he becomes hopelessly mixed up in the politics of popularity. As the temptation to dump his old friends for the popular crowd weighs heavy, Herman wrestles with the lessons taught to him by his mother while basking in the warm glow of his newfound social status.
