Synopsis by Rob Ferrier

This video chronicles the life of the American Basketball Association, aka the ABA. Between 1967 and 1976, the ABA introduced many things to professional basketball that would become signatures of the NBA game, including the three-point shot and slam dunk contests. Many of the greatest players of the era played with the red, white, and blue ball, including such names as Julius Erving, Rick Barry, and George "The Iceman" Gervin. This video is an in-depth history of a renegade league, featuring a mix of archival footage and contemporary interviews with former players such as Barry and Gervin, as well as former team officials like Pat Boone and Morton Downey Jr.
