Synopsis by Sarah Ing
The Long Search series journeys around the world in its quest to unwrap global beliefs. Long Search: Protestant Spirit U.S.A. lands in America where host Ronald Eyre profiles the most common religion: Protestantism. To capture the diversity inherent in such a widely practiced spirituality, Eyre chooses three different churches, beginning with the Baptists Temple, a 7,000-member organization. He then moves to a Methodist group with a less traditional flair. Finally, he explores the practices of Mount Vernon Baptist Church, an African-American house of worship.
