Synopsis by Sarah Ing
The Long Search explores the religions of the world in its 13-episode run. Long Search: Catholicism- Rome, Leeds and the Desert profiles the largest religious body on Earth and three of its outposts. With billions of practitioners, Catholicism defines a huge portion of the spiritually minded. The Pope and his home at the Vatican in Rome hold enormous sway over religious policy. Narrator Ronald Eyre also visits a devout group of Catholics in Leeds. He follows that with a stop at a monastic order in the deserts of Spain for a glimpse of the truly devoted.
