Synopsis by Jonathan Crow
Michael Mak Dong-kit directs the third installment in this series about mainland criminals in Hong Kong. Li Cheung-kong (Andy Lau Tak-wah) is convicted of a crime he did not commit and is sentenced to the firing squad. Just before his date with destiny, however, he manages to escape and heads for the border. There he meets a beautiful lass named Sheung Mun (Elizabeth Lee Mei-fung), who, like him, is trying to sneak into Hong Kong. Later, he learns that Mun has been sold into prostitution and makes an ill-fated attempt to free her. The criminals make a deal with Li: he helps out on a jewelry heist and Mun goes free. The young lovers' bliss is short-lived, however. Not only do the gangsters impress him into another year of crime work but the mainland cop who threw Li behind bars has tracked him to the colony and is hell-bent on getting him back in jail.
