Review by Craig Butler

Although it has its admirers who seem to believe it as something credible to say about gay relationships, Locked Up is really nothing more than a soft porn feature. It's possible that the filmmakers themselves were indeed aiming for something a little higher, as Locked does have a tad more plot and story than the typical porn film; indeed, director Jorg Andreas manages to imbue the film with some moments that feel genuinely romantic, albeit in a manipulative manner. But ultimately whatever higher ambitions may have been intended get lost in the need to provide "hot" scenes. These scenes, of course, satisfy no one: they are too intrusive and explicit to appeal to those who are here for a real romance, but not graphic enough for those who simply want to see sex in its rawest form. The dialogue is horrible, the plotting is slipshod and the film looks as cheap as it probably is. The cast certainly looks good, but their acting is poor (at best).
