Synopsis by Janiss Garza
Tsuru Aoki (Mrs. Sessue Hayakawa) stars in this old-fashioned silent film. Her character, Lotus Blossom, is a teacher in a mission in Hawaii. She meets and marries Harvey Stanwood (Stanhope Wheatcroft), the American victim of a shipwreck, but he cruelly deserts her. In Honolulu, he meets Audrey Stevens (Magda Lane) and follows her to San Francisco, where they are married. After a trip to New York, he returns to Audrey to find that he is a father. He also finds a new nursemaid -- Lotus Blossom. Because of her sense of honor, Lotus Blossom intends to keep quiet about her prior marriage to Stanwood, but he's still worried that the truth will come out. He attempts to poison her to get her out of the way, but instead he poisons himself. He dies a horrible death, and Lotus Blossom finds happiness with another man, this one an Oriental like her.
