Synopsis by Mark Deming
This animated adaptation of the popular children's book by Deborah Hautzig follows the adventures of Liddy, a ten-year-old girl from a family of witches. While Liddy's relatives want her to follow in their footsteps, she wishes that she could be just an ordinary kid. However, when she decides to put her magical powers to use to whip up a special birthday party for her friends, she learns a new respect for her family's skills as she accidentally travels to outer space and back again. The Little Witch was produced as part of Doors of Wonder, a series of films that bring classic children's books to life.
