Synopsis by Nathan Southern
This drama from director Yu-Hsiu Camille Chen explores the dynamics that unfold amid a dysfunctional family during a hot Australian summer. At the center of it all are three sisters: Christine (Arielle Gray), a med student coming to terms with her own sexual identity; Anna (Melanie Munt), a young woman with acting aspirations struggling with an unhappy marriage to a filmmaker; Nina (Nina Deasley), a widow with two small children. Their mother, Susan, slips out of remission from breast cancer, and the clan gathers for one final Christmas together. Then, as each young woman evolves in a unique way, Susan unveils a secret that she has kept buried for many years.
