Synopsis by Maggie Sadler
Sumo, the national sport of Japan, adheres to strict traditions, in which only men are permitted to enter the ring. Despite the reverence with which the sumo ring is treated, 20-year-old wrestler Hiyori Kon challenges such conventions not only to participate in her sport but also to draw global attention to the struggles of female wrestlers. This short documentary is written and directed by Matt Kay, co-founder of Walks of Life Films.
