Synopsis by Hans J. Wollstein
Dragged out of the collapsed cabin by Kate Arnold (Ann Little) and the sheriff's posse, Lightning Bryce (Jack Hoxie) goes in search of his enemy, Powder Solvang (Paul Hurst). The mortally wounded Indian princess (Jill Woodward) tells Kate how Solvang had kidnapped her as a young girl, kept her a virtual prisoner, and even branded her. She was saved by a white man and in gratitude has willed her fortune to Lightning, with whom she has fallen in love. Tracked down by Lightning and imprisoned, Solvang manages to overpower the sheriff (Yakima Canutt) but is eventually killed by the vengeful Indian runner Zambleau (Steve Clemente). Fatally wounded in the struggle, Zambleau reveals the Funeral Mountain location of Lightning's inheritance. "Kate, there's more than one kind of treasure waitin' for us over in those mountains," Lightning tells Kate (via an intertitle). "There's gold that can't be weighed or bought, an' it shines so far I can see its reflection in your eyes right now."
