Synopsis by Alice Day
When astronauts travel in space, their bodies experience conditions that can only be simulated on Earth. Microgravity affects all the bodily systems, including the circulation, the muscles, bones, digestion, the immune system, and cellular activity. Liftoff to Learning: All Systems Go examines how the human body reacts to the weightlessness of space, and how astronauts can better adapt to these effects over a lengthy space flight. Many of the problems directly impact the general well-being of astronauts, who cannot afford to have their health compromised in space.
