Synopsis by Hal Erickson
Life's Temptation opens as two shipwreck survivors struggle for survival on a flimsy life-raft. One of them, sensing that he isn't long for this world, tells the other his life story: That he killed a man, stole his money, and ran off to sea. With what he thinks is his dying breath, the confessor begs his companion to return the stolen money to the dead man's family. Fortunately, the other survivor is rescued, whereupon he heads to London to fulfill his promise. Instead, however, he decides to keep the money for himself then marries the girl to whom the ill-gotten cash rightfully belongs. The plot thickens when the man's supposedly deceased life-raft companion turns up very much alive.
