The trials and joys of the suburban Thachers, whose teen son Corky has Down syndrome. This alone made the well-received family drama unusual; what made it more so was that Chris Burke, who played the role, has the condition in real life. Corky wanted to be 'mainstreamed' in high school, which sometimes made life uncomfortable for his younger sister Becca, who was in the same grade. In the last season, Corky found a girlfriend, played by Andrea Friedman.
