In late 1948, the Chinese People’s Liberation Army launched three major campaigns against the Nationalist government in order to take back Northern China. Liberation commits to film the last stage of the attack that was staged in January 1949. After 29 gruelling hours of fighting, the People’s Liberation Army was able to either kill or capture 130,000 troops of the Nationalist government, as well as capture Chen Changjie, one of the camp’s central figures. Directed by Xiaoyang Chang and Shaohong Li, the film stars Wallace Chung, Zhou Yiwei, Elane Zhong, Yang Mi, and Philip Keung; directed by Xiaoyang Chang and Shaohong Li.
