Back in her native Brittany, Morgane Ledantec, captain of the gendarmerie, is confronted with the discovery of human bones following the fall of a sacred oak tree during a storm. The victim was a follower of Druidry, to which Morgane was introduced as a teenager by her godmother, the disturbing Katell. Gifted with a sometimes disconcerting capacity for prescience that she has always hidden and which will gradually awaken throughout her investigation, Morgane will have to reconnect with her childhood friends who all seem to have something to hide.
