This was an attempt by Kenneth Anger to make a film based on the poetic masterwork of the proto-surrealist poet Comte de Lautréamont. Les Chants de Maldoror unfortunately never got beyond the stage of making some test footage and conducting rehearsals with dancers from the companies of Grand Ballet du Marquis de Cuevas and the Ballets de Paris of Roland Petit. The fate of the footage that Kenneth Anger made for the film, its length, content, and cast, are unknown.
