Envious over the fact that his parents are making a big fuss over brother Wally's (Tony Dow) baseball prowess, Beaver (Jerry Mathers) hopes to impress the folks by joining the school band. So caught up does he get in this project that he's even willing to take clarinet lessons. But what's Beav going to tell mom (Barbara Billingsley) and dad (Hugh Beaumont) when the leader of the band turns him down for membership?
